What is gold? Is it the substance used to make the Olympic gold medals? Or is it when you look out the window and see the sky and houses with trees surrounding them, and know that life is not a dream but real life. With people who care and pass kindness on. Is it knowing that one seed can grow into the tallest tree in the world in such little time. Life goes by in the blink of an eye. One day we're 7 years old, playing basketball with our friends, and the next we're 20, 2 years away from finishing college. That short span of time that we live in is gold. We have to learn to cherish every single moment that we get to enjoy in this world. Because pretty soon, we won't have this happiness anymore. And I'm not saying that to be negative. I'm saying this as a reminder to always enjoy every moment, every day, every month, every year of your life. No matter how bad or negative it might be on you. Everything seems like such a dream, but having that option to look out of our windows and do great things, is not a dream. Nothing is just a dream in life. Because after you wake up we are transported into a realm where we can make dreams come true. We can make dreams reality. And reality is gold.. Most of the time:)
But not all realities are gold. Some people are out in the world with nothing to eat, no shelter, no education, and no love. But they get through it. We all can get through it. Just like August said in the wonderful, amazing book named "Wonder" We all deserve a standing ovation. For getting through our opponent in our boxing ring, life, yes we should get a standing ovation, August, yes we should. It takes tremendous amounts of courage to get through life. And everyone has done it. From the man who lives underneath a bridge, to a low income family, to a billionaire, we all have misfortune. Face it. Life treats us like crap. But we all need to pick ourselves up and go to the places we need to be, whether it's begging for money on the side of the road or at a high level business meeting. Sure, sometimes we get depressed, but we have to realize that it doesn't matter. In a few years, we'll be in a completely different state. A completely different emotion. And I believe that should be happiness. And happiness it Gold. With a capital G.
